| ADMIRARI measures the radiation emitted by the earth's atmosphere at 10.65, 21.0 and 36.5 GHz, both in Vertical and Horizontal-polarization. While 10.65 and 36.5 GHz are located in a window region, the 21.0 GHz channel is located in the water vapour absorption band. This allows to retrieve the usual combination of integrated water vapor (IWV) and liquid water path (LWP) product in cloudy condition. The polarization difference PD = TB(V) - TB(H) signal will be exploited in rainy condition to split the LWP in its cloud component (c-LWP) and its rain component (r-LWP) as illustrated in the figure. | |
